录用外国学生到新加坡政府和政府辅助学校的注意事项。

PART I - PROCEDURE . 第一部分-过程。　

1. The parent or guardian submits the application at the Foreign Students Unit Counter .

父母或者监护人在教育部外国学生处柜台提交申请表格。　

The parent or guardian submits the completed application form together with all the necessary original documents in exchange for a queue number .

父母或者监护人提交填好的申请表格和所有的必要的原版文件，然后将得到一个等候号码。

A check-list of the original documents required is given on the reverse side of the application form .

需要准备的正本文件需放在申请表格的后面。

There will be a processing time of about 30 minutes before your queue number is called for you to collect your documents .

You will also be issued with a written acknowledgement .

2. The Letter of Certification will be sent to the parent 's / guardian 's local address .

Please use the Letter of Certification to approach a school for vacancy and assessment test date .

3. The School endorses the test marks on the Letter of Certification and returns it to the Foreign Students Unit .

4. The Letter of Donation will be sent to the parent 's / guardian 's local address.

If the foreign student is successful in the school 's assessment test , the Foriegn Students Unit will send a letter requesting for a donation to the Education Fund .

如果外国学生成功通过学校的评估测验，外国学生处将发信要求捐款给教育基金。

Please ensure that the donation is made by the date stated in the letter .

请在信里确定捐款的开始日期。　

5. The Letter of Approval will be sent to the parent 's / guardian 's local address .

Please use the Letter of Approval to obtain the Student Pass from the Immigration Department .

请拿着批准信到移民厅（办理）获取学生准证。

6. The student can report for school admission after obtaining the Student Pass .

PART II - OTHER INFORMATION .
第二部分-其它信息。　

1. Application Period . 申请周期。　

Foreign student applications are accepted from the month of June onwards , for admission in the following school year beginning in January .

外国学生申请者在六月份前被接受的，在下一个学年一月开始入学。

　2. Closing Date for Submission of Application 提交申请的关闭日期。

The last date for the submission of application for a particular year is 31 May of that year .

提交申请的最后日期是那一年的五月三十一日。

The processing of each application takes an average of 4 to 6 weeks .

处理每个申请的平均时间是4到6个星期。

If the foreign student is unable to pass the school assessment test and obtain a confirmed vacancy by 30 June , the admission will be for the following school year beginning in January .

如果外国学生不能在六月前通过学校的评估测验估计测试及获得一个确定的学额，入学将在下一学年的一月开始。　

3. Choice of School . 选择学校

The choice of school is at the discretion of the parent or guardian .

学校的选择是由父母或者监护人来考虑。

The parent or guardian should approach the school of choice for a place .

Admission is based on the availability of vacancies in the school of choice provided there are no Singapore citizens or permanent residents on the school 's waiting list .

5。Assessment Test

5。评估测验

The foreign student is given an assessment test in English, Mathematics and Mother Tongue Language (where applicable). The test is conducted by the school which the foreign student is seeking admission to.

外国学生需要进行英语、数学和母语（如有的话）测验。测验由外国学生要进的那所学校进行。

6。Level of Admission 入学年级

Besides the performance in the assessment test, foreign students will be considered for admission to a level subject to documentary proof that he/she has completed the previous level, and subject to the age criteria given in Page 4.

7。Admission to the Pre-University Course 加入大学预备班

A foreign student seeking admission to the Pre-U course on the strength of his/her Malaysian SPM, must also have the Cambridge English Paper 1119 results slip/certificate, or its equivalence. Any other foreign student should produce his/her GCE `O' Level results slip/certificate or its equivalence.

8。Exemption from offering Chinese, Malay or Tamil as a Mother Tongue Language

8。免修作为母语的华文、马来文或泰米尔文

Exemption from the mother tongue requirement may be considered on a case by case basis after the student has been admitted to school.

9。Monthly School Fees 月费

For Government and Government-Aided Schools, the monthly rates of school fees payable　 are S$80 for Primary, S$130 for Secondary and S$240 for Pre-University levels. Fees for Independent School range from S$200 to S$500. Fees in Autonomous Schools range from S$122 to S$128. Please check directly with the individual Independent and Autonomous schools on their rates of fees payable. These rates may be adjusted from time to time.

10。Donation to the Education Fund 捐款给教育基金

Generally, a foreign student is requested to donate to the Education Fund of the Ministry of Education if his/her application to study in Singapore is approved. The current rates of donation for Malaysians are S$3000 for primary education and S$3000 for secondary/Pre-university education. The current rates for other nationalities are S$5000 for primary education and S$5000 for secondary/Pre-university education.

通常如果外国学生在新加坡学习的申请批准后会要求他。小学生是马来西亚人，捐款3000元，其他国家是5000元。

The children of Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents are granted waiver from donation.

新加坡公民或永久居民的孩子免捐款。

The donation to the Education Fund is eligible for tax-exemption and the official receipt can only be made in favour of either the parent or the foreign student.

The donation is not refundable except when a student is awarded a Singapore Government scholarship in the year of admission or when he/she has not attended any lessons in school.

捐款给教育部的教育基金的款项可以扣税。捐款的收据只可适用于父母或外国学生二者其一。捐款不可退回除非学生获得录用那一年度的新加坡政府奖学金或者学生没有在学校里上过任何的课。

11。Children of Employment Pass and Skilled Work Permit holders 就业准证和技术工作准证持有着的孩子

The children of holders of valid Employment Passes and Skilled Work Permits are exempted from this procedure. They are also exempted from applying for Student Passes and are granted waiver of donation to the Education Fund. Such children may approach the schools directly for admission. (School Principals may refer to Notification PA/33/95 dated 14 Nov 95)

12。Particulars of a Guardian 监护人的详细说明

The foreign student is required to provide the particulars of his/her guardian for contact purposes. The guardian should be a Singapore Citizen or Singapore Permanent Resident, above 21 years of age and should normally be the person whom the foreign student is lodging with. After successful admission to school, a foreign student should report any change in guardianship to his school principal.

为了方便联系，要求外国学生提供他的监护人的详细资料。监护人必须是新加坡公民或新加坡永久居民且大于21岁可提供外国学生寄宿。学校成功录用后，监护人的个人资料有任何变动，外国学生需报告他的校长。

13。General概论

It is an offence under the Singapore Immigration Regulations for a foreign student to attend school without a valid student pass. Please refer to the application procedure explained in Part I - Procedure.

A copy of the `Directory of Schools and Institutions, Singapore' is obtainable from the Foreign Students Unit, Ministry of Education, at S$2.00 per copy excluding postage. This publication provides the addresses and telephone numbers of all the schools in Singapore.

根据新加坡移民条例，外国学生没有有效的学生准证读书是犯法的。请参考第一部分－过程中的解释。

14。Admission to Kindergartens, Private Schools, Universities & Polytechnics

A foreign student seeking admission to a kindergarten, private school or an institution of higher education (ie university and polytechnic), should approach the kindergarten, private school or institution directly. Donation to the Education Fund is not required for admission to a kindergarten, private school or institution.

外国学生可以进入幼儿园、私人学校、大学和理工学院，可以直接就近入学而不必捐款给教育基金。

(#) The above age concession is given only on first admission. A foreign student who is admitted under the above age category is required to leave school if he/she fails in the school's annual examination. He/She will not be allowed to repeat in any Government or Government-Aided school.

（＃）上面的年龄只供初次入学用。外国学生如果低于上面的年龄表入学而年度考试不及格的话，他要离开学校而且不允许再次进入政府或政府辅助学校。
